Can non woven fabric be washed?

Many people may not be familiar with non-woven fabrics, but you must have used something made of it. For example, masks, bedspreads, wet wipes, diapers, irrigation cloths, etc. are all made of non-woven fabrics. Non-woven materials are usually recommended for hand washing when cleaning, and a laundry bag or the like is required for machine washing to avoid fluffing or wrinkling. So how do you clean it? First of all, we must first understand the non-woven fabric:

What material is non woven cloth made of

Most non-woven fabrics use polypropylene (pp material). The chemical structure of the material is unstable, the molecular chain is easy to break, and the plastic shopping bags made are easy to decompose. By using polypropylene through high temperature dissolution, spinning, web laying and hot pressing, non-woven fabrics are made into products with cloth-like appearance and properties. The fibers used to produce nonwoven fabrics are mainly polypropylene (PP) and polyester (PET). In addition, there are nylon (PA), viscose, acrylic, polyethylene (HDPE) and chlorine (PVC).

Can the non-woven fabric be washed in a washing machine?

It can be washed in the washing machine, but be careful with the method, otherwise it will fluff and wrinkle.

1. Put in laundry bag

When laundering non-woven fabrics, the non-woven fabric must be placed in a washing wire and washed. Reduce the impact of external forces and other clothing.

2. Washing mode selection

When washing with a washing machine, you can choose "hand wash mode" or "soft rubbing wash", which can suppress the influence of external force on the non-woven fabric.

3. Dehydration

Spinning in the washing machine can cause wrinkles. It's best not to dehydrate, but to soak up the water with a towel and dry in the shade. If you really want to dehydrate, wrap it in a bath towel and dehydrate. The dehydration time should not be too long, usually about 30 seconds

How to clean non-woven fabrics

1. Put warm water at about 35°C in the laundry tub.

2. Add an appropriate amount of neutral detergent, and then soak the non-woven fabric. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Neutral detergents can be laundry detergents or dishwashing detergents.

3. Gently wipe with a soft brush.

4. Rinse with water, adding a small amount of white vinegar to peracid in the final rinse.

5. Sandwich it between towels and press lightly to absorb the moisture. Dry in the shade. If the non-woven fabric is wrung out or rubbed hard, it may be damaged, deformed and wrinkled.
